The Role
 •  The H&S advisor is strategic at a business unit level and the purpose of this is to support Management teams to drive and continually improve health and safety standards.
 •  It is also a very ‘hands on’ role that provides operational Health and Safety support and advice ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the business unit and group.
 •  Legal Support – making sure they are compliant.
 •  This role has operational and strategic responsibility for the effective management of Health and Safety matters and is expected to consider company values and behaviours, business requirements, best practice and legal compliance when considering their approach. They will develop, review and advise on policy and procedures to ensure the Group is in line with legislative requirements.
 •  Quality and Performance – making sure they deliver a good service

The H&S advisor role is expected to provide appropriate Health and Safety solutions that positively contribute to business unit performance whilst also being accountable for wider Health and Safety service delivery. They will audit internally to provide assurance to the wider group on performance against Health and Safety objectives.

 •  Strategy – joining the dots and supporting businesses to achieve objectives
 •  The H&S advisor would be expected to draw upon business, group and Health and Safety objectives; aligning strategy to ensure a ‘joined up’ approach whilst being able to adapt solutions to suit business unit needs.
 •  For the H&S advisor to achieve its purpose it is key to develop a good understanding of the business model for each area they support

What you need to succeed
 •  National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Qualification
 •  Previous experience of Health and Safety particularly with CQC or NHS history
 •  Be approachable and collaborative
 •  The ability to communicate clearly and productively
 •  The ability to present resolutions and improvements productively
