Industrial Operations Engineer

- Location: Manchester, with travel across 4 other sites in the country
- Salary: £30,000-40,000

Day to Day of the role:
- Monitor, review, report, and actively take action to optimise operations and key performance indicators across all business units.
- Understand recycling and waste management activities and demonstrate technical knowledge of industrial equipment in an engineering discipline.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to work efficiently and effectively under strict reporting timelines, providing technical support and operational data.
- Meet with potential new customers/suppliers to discuss solutions that improve, innovate, and increase operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to achieve business unit key performance indicators.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of new investments and projects.
- Optimize and develop processes, activities, operations, and projects with consideration for Health & Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
- Lead data reporting and develop goals for business growth, ensuring they are met.
- Provide technical support for operations in our facilities or for external customers, including projects and new investments.
- Audit and review processes and operations.
- Travel to UK depots and customers/suppliers, with occasional travel to other European countries.
- Deputize within the Industrial team’s activities and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HND, BSc, or MSc in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, CAD, Maintenance software) with significant data handling and presentation skills.
- Superior communication skills at all levels, with customer engagement experience.
- Experience supporting operations and/or Engineering.
- Knowledge of the recycling and waste industry.
- Ability to read and understand technical content.
- Experience working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to prioritise in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to operate in high-pressure situations and handle multiple competing priorities.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement Process.
- Full driving licence.
