We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Level 3 to join our supportive and talented team at Begbrook Primary Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.

Begbrook Academy is a three-form entry primary school with a pre-school, situated in Stapleton, on the outskirts of Bristol. Our school population is culturally, socially and economically diverse. We are an inclusive school, and we recognise the many different barriers to learning that exist.

We are situated on the edge of Snuff Mills, a beautiful and historic section of the Frome Valley walkway that is rich in nature. Our school is set within extensive grounds, comprising of a large school field, conservation area, meadow, orchard, four playground spaces including trim trails and a multi-use games area.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Level 3 to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities under an appropriate system of supervision. This involves planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for whole classes.

Undertake specified work, including delivering lessons to whole classes on a regular basis within an agreed system of supervision and pre-determined framework. Play a significant role in the educational, personal and social development of designated students, advancing learning under the direction and guidance of relevant colleagues (e.g. the Principal, SENCO and class teachers.) Support students in accessing the curriculum, engaging with their learning and achieving their full potential by employing relevant strategies and techniques developed as a result of significant experience, specialist knowledge, skill and expertise.

Deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being, the benefits of which are likely to extend beyond the individual student or class in order to have a wider positive impact. Support, coach or manage other colleagues to develop their practice.

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.

The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
