This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with experience in Stroke Rehabilitation to work with the team based at Royal Derby Hospital and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital , as part of the Derbyshire Community Health Services Service Level Agreement.
We are looking for an HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist with developed skills working with dysphagia and communication.
As a clinical employee it will be your responsibility to ensure that your behaviour and values reflect those set out in the DCHS Way.
Main duties of the job
You will be proficient in your abilities to deliver high-quality, evidence-based practice, with assessment and therapeutic abilities, including dysphagia and communication management in this specialist area.
You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of patient-focused care and be a strong team player.
We would consider applications from suitably experienced B5 SLTs and would consider a transitional post.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

Provides a clinical service to adults with communication/eating/drinking and swallowing difficulties across the stroke pathway.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
- Relevant experience post-registration, including dysphagia, stroke experience
- Recent and relevant, post-qualification experience working as an SLT
- Membership of relevant Clinical Education Networks
- Experience of supervising students and assistants. Feeding back to training establishments on performance
Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to understand and apply capacity/demand issues in service area to prioritise caseload according to levels of need and explain rationale for decision making to others
- Post graduate dysphagia experience
- Demonstrates ability to be a good team member providing mentorship, clinical supervision and second opinions
- Skills in the management of patients in instrumental assessment
