About Our Client
A great opportunity for a Buyer - Footwear to join a leading fashion retail business in their Leeds Office. As a company they have been trading for over 40 years and are now a multi-channel retailer selling via stores, ecommerce, wholesale etc.Due to strong trading figures, there are seeking to add a couple of key hires to their buying team.
Job Description- To deliver a collection from sourcing to developing end to end life cycle of the shoe until it reaches stores.
- Managing and overseeing all categories across all seasons.
- Working closely with design team, developing individual lines working on; bestselling constructions and move ons per season. Ensuring all brand devices and DNA of the brand is represented in line with the brand vision.
- Every product built in line with the brand price architecture, in line with main competitors.
- Every product within each category is planned closely with merchandising for its planned status. Promotional/Full Price/ Sale buy, and delivering the planned BIM per season.
- Manage supply base, ensuring each product is sourced from the right factory using their strengths and ensuring best product, right time in the season
- Build relationships with all suppliers, enabling win win outcome/ performance.
- Identifying trends and ensuring newness is managed each season, pushing for testers and using short lead time supply base to support this.
- Ensuring the design team are developing in-line with the product and price arch plan (close with design manager)
- Excellent negotiation skills to maximise profit with the ability to influence suppliers to gain win win results.
- Working with Tech to complete fit sessions, offering commercial decisions and knowing impact on CP.
- Manage Critical path end to end, with a view that all product teams are on boarded with key dates in the diary and work collaboratively as a team to get these met.
- Drive all product areas with QC/ fits, ensuring all decisions are made in accordance to the CP.
- To develop a team to be high performers and achieve best results whilst creating a sense of teamwork across the department.

- Experience of buying / product development of on trend footwear
- Communicates confidently and effectively with suppliers, colleagues and peers while being aware of the importance of keeping others informed on issues which impact on their role.
