Schools Based Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered) for Children and YoungPeople in Southwest London
**Location:**
Regional Role, South-West London
**Salary:**
£38,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience.
**Contract:**
Summer Contract with the following benefits:
Summer Contract- 5 weeks off in the school summer break
- 22 days of annual leave + years of service allowance
- 1 CPD day to use towards training

Term Time Contract- off when schools close for term breaks and summer

Flexible working across 6 days (Monday-Saturday)
**What are we looking for?**
Enthusiastic, motivated, and creative Occupational Therapists with PaediatricExperience who is keen to work with students in school settings and join our
growing MDT.

Mandatory Requirements:
- HCPC and RCOT registration
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Therapy
- Paediatric OT Experience
Desirable:
Paediatric experience- Experience working within a specialist Worked within and SEN paediatric setting
- Experience working within school settings
- Experiencing completing assessments for Education, Health, and Care plans
- Specialist CPD andor training
**Role Overview:**
The Paediatric Occupational Therapist plays a pivotal role in assessing theneeds of a variety of students for Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and
providing targeted and specialist interventions to support their development.
You will be working within a variety of school environments and collaborating
with multidisciplinary teams and teaching staff to ensure holistic care and
embedded interventions. Additionally, the role involves training and
upskilling teaching staff to effectively support students occupational
therapy goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students sensory, motor, and self-care skills to determine eligibility for Occupational Therapy provision within their EHCP.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to address students specific needs and facilitate their participation in school activities.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy goals into students educational plans and learning environment.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of intervention effectiveness, adjusting plans as necessary to optimise outcomes.
- Conduct training and support to teaching staff on strategies and techniques to promote students functional skills and independence within the classroom setting.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, case notes, annual review reports and intervention plans in accordance with regulatory standards and LCP policies.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings to contribute expertise and ensure coordinated care for students with complex needs.
- Primarily school-based with opportunity to work within the clinic setting.
- Regular interaction with students, teachers, and other professionals in a collaborative team working environment.
- Flexible working hours. ty in scheduling to accommodate students and schools needs within school hours with time to complete administration and preparation for the next working day after school finishes.
