Parts Cleaner

Hours of work: (44 hours) 7am to 5pm Mon to Thurs and Fri 7am to 1pm.

Our Engineering client based in the Burton On Trent area, is looking for a Parts Cleaner on a temporary basis.

Candidates must have own transport due to site location.

Position Summary:

Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:

1. General cleaning and preparation of engine, transmission and raft parts using manual tools, dual

1. Load / unload parts into cleaning machines
2. Follow the relevant working instructions / process plans etc.
3. Inspect for signs of damage/wear
4. Disassemble parts for re-use/deep cleaning
5. Record acceptance or rejection of parts on inspection report
6. Identify structural and material defects
7. Interpret and present findings of faults
8. Understand the production schedule, and work closely with production and engineering to build

1. Maintain NDT equipment as and when required
2. Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable
3. Work to and support all relevant 5S activities
4. Report any near misses
5. Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
6. Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager
7. Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and

1. Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and

requirement

Background & Experience:

• Minimum 1-year experience in relevant rail or automotive industry.
• Be practical mechanically oriented
• Possess good problem-solving skills

Qualifications/Education required:

• NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering equivalent or above
• Recognised NDT qualification or equivalent
