Job overview

Are you interested in working in a busy, dynamic and friendly Outpatient department, to deliver a modern day outpatient service.

We are looking for a motivated and flexible Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our Outpatient team.

We work across multiple Outpatient areas to deliver a seven day service. You will be required to support and manage trauma and orthopaedic clinics based at out specialist emergency hospital at Cramlington, as well as working at our new outpatient department at Morpeth View and Wansbeck General Hospital.

We will provide a supportive learning environment and encourage personal and professional development.

You must have outpatient, hospital or clinical experience. NVQ level 3 is essential or relevant outpatient experience and phlebotomy experience and skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Working across sites at NSECH, Morpeth and Wansbeck.

To assist in the day to day running of the department.

To cover evening and weekend clinics when required.

The ability to travel across sites timely on split shifts.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Completion of a competency-based programme or equivalent relevant experience
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject and evidence of experience
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of completed competencies aligned to the service area
  • Extensive experience in outpatients and clinic settings
  • Evidence of delivering phlebotomy in a clinical environment
