Are you passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of older residents? We are looking for a dedicated Community Coordinator to join a great client of ours working in the Bromley area. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in community service and is eager to promote well-being, connection, and a sense of belonging among older adults.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Programme Delivery: Plan and deliver 30 themed sessions each year at each hub, along with three seasonal “community day” events, totalling 99 sessions annually. Collaborate with residents to design activities run in 8–10-week cycles, such as bingo, quizzes, crochet, chair yoga, dance, and music. Ensure each session provides a welcoming and inclusive environment with light meals.
  • Community Engagement and Training: Build strong relationships with residents, staff, and volunteers to enhance outreach and support networks. Recruit and supervise volunteers, ensuring they receive necessary support and DBS checks. Deliver a 6-week AQA-accredited training programme on community planning, safeguarding, confidentiality, and first aid.
  • Well-being Bank Initiative: Develop and manage a “well-being bank” to distribute essential items like blankets and heaters, sourced through purchases and local donations.
  • Site Management and Compliance: Ensure all mandatory e-learning for hubs is completed, covering Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Food Hygiene, and boiler servicing. Maintain up-to-date certification.
  • Marketing and Communication: Work with the marketing team to promote hub activities through various channels including leaflets, social media, and direct outreach. Handle daily email and enquiry responses promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings to ensure the smooth running of projects and to share innovative ideas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community-focused roles, ideally with older adults.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, volunteer management, and community engagement.
  • Ability to plan and adapt activities to meet diverse community needs.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for email, marketing, and basic administration.
