equivalent preferable.

Fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance
ANNUAL AND STUDY LEAVE ARRANGEMENTS
Annual leave and study leave must be planned in advance and must be agreed with supervising consultants.

Aims and responsibilities of the post:
This post will span the clinical and research gamut of Movement Disorders to develop clinical, research and teaching skills for the successful applicant. The position will provide sub-specialist experience in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders neurology to consultant level, in addition to movement disorders research, and delivery of clinical neurosciences undergraduate teaching.The post will support the medical and neurosurgical management of movement disorders at OUHFT under the supervision of Prof Michele Hu and Dr Nagaraja Sarangmat, with neurosciences undergraduate teaching supervised by Programme Director Prof Gabriele de Luca.
This post is formally accredited by the Association of British Neurologists (ABN).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Weekly Timetable; to be confirmed with supervising consultants
To include 2 clinics per week comprising 1 weekly PD/atypical PD clinic on a Thursday pm. The second clinic will comprise 2 DBS PD-Movement disorders clinics per month, 1 botulinum toxin clinic per month and 1 neurogenetics/ ataxia clinic per month to offer a broad range of clinical experience.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria- Full GMC registration with licence to practice
- Medical Degree
- MRCP or equivalent.
- To Senior Trainee, Junior consultant level
- CCT (Neurology),
- MRCP Neurology
- Higher Medical Degree eg PhD
Experience
Essential criteria- General training in Neurology to specialist level or equivalent
- experience of ST7 and above
- responsibility of ST7 and above
- Interest in research with publications, and neurology teaching
- GCP trained (Good Clinical Practice: a practical guide to ethical and scientific quality standards in clinical research)
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Sufficient organizational and leadership skills to effectively meet demands of this senior Fellow post
- Sufficient communication, professional and personal skills to be a highly effective team member
- Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision.
- Undertake effectively the role of Senior Clinical Fellow in Movement Disorders in a large teaching hospital
- Experience of teaching undergraduates and trainees
- Experience of routine clinical audit
- Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS,
- Leadership qualification
- Communication skills qualification. Evidence of previous high-level presentations and audit
- Previous experience in Movement Disorders management including DBS and atypical parkinsonian disorders
- Ability to analyse research data, present and write up results.
- Prior publication record.
