Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed and dynamic Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in South Manchester, supporting students who need extra help to re-engage with their education.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students in the classroom, helping to promote positive behaviour, encourage active participation, and provide tailored learning support. Your role will be pivotal in helping to reintegrate students who are struggling to stay focused and motivated, creating an environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those who are disengaged from learning.
- Assist with behaviour management to foster a positive learning environment.
- Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers on student development.
- Help students build their confidence, motivation, and social skills.
- Encourage and reinforce a growth mindset among students.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including maintaining student records and preparing learning materials.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable.
- A positive and proactive attitude with a passion for working with disengaged learners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Patience, resilience, and an understanding of the challenges students face in re-engaging with education.
- An adaptable approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
