Business Analyst
Overview
Working within our Information Technology team, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our small but dynamic Programme Management Unit (PMU) in a professional services environment.
This role is based in our Bristol Office and would require office attendance of at least 1 day a week as part of our hybrid working policy.
As this is a more junior position you will be mentored by a Senior Business Analyst. If you are passionate about driving business success through innovative solutions, we would love to hear from you.
The Role & Key Responsibilities- Requirements Gathering:
- Work with the Senior Business Analyst as well as stakeholders within the business.
- Attend meetings and workshops which will include both business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the current position as well as the required future position. Providing insights into the wider impact to the firm.
- Analysis:
- Help analyse processes and or existing systems, recommend enhancements or replacements to meet business needs.
- Support:
- Support the Project Managers in the development and implementation of business strategies and solutions.
- Support the communication between business units and IT teams, where required, translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Documentation:
- To gather, analyse and document requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to all stakeholders.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for business processes, requirements, and functional specifications.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of business objectives and project goals.
- Improvements:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes and systems.
- Help identify and support the delivery of business process improvements and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Testing and Validation:
- Assist in the testing of new systems/solutions to ensure they meet business requirements.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills, a collaborative work style to foster relationships, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a positive and methodical approach to problem solving, and be detail-oriented with strong time management abilities.They should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment and have a willingness to learn business analysis tools.
While not essential, experience in the professional services industry, knowledge of business process modelling and improvement methodologies, a BA Diploma BCS or equivalent, and demonstrable experience of Business Analysis work would be advantageous.
To be successful in this role, you'll need as a minimum:
- One to two years experience working as an Analyst, ideally a Business Analyst.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Degree Qualification (Computer Science, Business, Legal etc).
