Job Description

The Key Responsibilities of the finance analyst:

Key duties include;
  • Ensure that all bookings are processed and offers issued to customers as approved by the business
  • Ensure fair and accurate accrual bookings in line with accounting standards.
  • Responsibility for the management of the balance sheet reconciliation and aging clearance.
  • Review all bookings post-promotion and calculate any P&L / BS impact for reported sell out and work with the Commercial and FP&A teams to ensure this is factored into the SD forecasts in a timely manner.
  • Manage the process of accounting for sales deductions and support the divisions.
  • Ensure that these costs are completely and accurately recorded, correctly classified, that spend is appropriately justified and within budget/authority limits, and that supporting processes are efficient and effective.
  • Working with AR team to validate and process of customer claims received and management of account accruals
  • Support Commercial Finance Managers with data requests
Process and system improvements
  • Continuous review of end-to-end processes
  • Undertake project to review processes and implement automation of bookings process as appropriate for different product categories.

A successful Finance Analyst should have:

Soft Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with data transposing.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions and direct others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others.
  • Proven track record in demonstrating accountability and ownership; proactive approach.
  • Strong reporting skills, display key information and convey messages clearly, concisely and with impact.
  • Work well under pressure, with good decision making skills under tight deadlines.
Hard Skills
  • Advanced excel skills (data handling, pivots, sumifs, charts etc).
  • Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors;
  • Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP).
