Teaching Personnel are working with a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Provision in Liskeard who are looking for a full time member of staff to join their new and establishing team.
The school offer intervention programmes which are designed with mental health at the core and built upon thorough collaboration with the students, schools, their families or carers and mental health professionals.
Our tailored programmes include access to specialist teaching staff on a 1-1 basis and small group settings. On-site therapeutic sessions are provided which are determined by the needs and wants of the young person and a core group of professionals.
The school will deliver programmes not only in small classroom settings but also in environmental areas and by using community green and fitness areas within the community. We live in a beautiful part of the country and we use it.
The successful candidate would ideally have experience of working with young people who have additional needs as well as their own resilience to support our young people on a daily basis. You will be expected to work outside of the normal classroom environment, including off site work, as a way to encourage our students to learn.You will be professional in your approach and organised in your working.
You will be supporting teaching specialists in delivering high quality teaching and learning by providing care and support enabling young people to thrive, behavioural coping mechanisms that help our young people make good choices and reflect on their actions and you will provide academic support for the group or young person you will be working with.
You will be at the forefront of making life changing differences to a group of young people who deserve the same high level of education as their peers.
If you have good communication skills, and a desire to help make a difference to young people’s lives then we would like to hear from you. For this post we do require you to have a full driving license and access to transport.
