We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Operations Manager to lead global procurement efforts and drive transformation within a service centre. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in public sector procurement, with a strong understanding of governance challenges and global procurement processes.This role will focus on establishing commercial excellence, streamlining systems, and supporting a transactional hub and buying team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of procurement operations, working closely with a transformation team to implement innovative solutions and drive process improvements.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead the procurement function within the service center, ensuring alignment with global procurement strategies.Establish commercial excellence by overseeing budgets, compliance with regulations, and managing risk.
Support the existing buying team, focusing on commonly bought commodities and providing strategic direction for future operations.
Streamline procurement processes and systems, working towards efficiency and improved performance.
Collaborate with the transformation team to drive change and implement new opportunities for procurement improvement.
Design and implement systems and processes that enhance the procurement function within a shared services environment.
Provide support to incumbent workers, ensuring smooth transitions during process changes.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a global procurement role with a strong understanding of concept-to-pay processes.Demonstrated expertise in operational procurement, including helpdesk support, requisition and order processing, tactical sourcing, and data management.
Experience working in large, complex procurement organisations, particularly in competitive, fast-changing environments.
Strong background in designing and managing shared service procurement operations.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle, with SAP experience being a desirable asset.
