My client is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse for an exciting 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role is available for both full-time and part-time candidates, located near a stunning seaside setting near the South Downs National Park—an ideal spot for lovers of the outdoors, water sports, and dog walking.

Key Highlights:

  • Join a well-established team of 4 veterinary surgeons with expertise in small animal surgery, dentistry, and ophthalmology.
  • Work alongside 4 full-time nurses, 1 part-time head nurse, 2 student nurses, and a friendly front-of-house team.
  • The practice features modern facilities, including 2 spacious consult rooms, a theatre, laparoscopy, dental x-ray, ultrasound, digital x-ray, and a full lab.
  • Nurses actively engage in consults and laser therapy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN or someone eager to develop their skills within a supportive and highly skilled team.

Role Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients and patients.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-procedure tasks.
  • Lead nurse appointments and perform schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor patient care throughout their stay.
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient transfers as directed.
  • Dispense and verify medications.
  • Uphold professional excellence, adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth and effective practice operations.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Be adept at working within a team and supporting nurse-led consults.
  • Possess strong coaching and influencing skills to foster team performance.
