Welcome to Forage and Season Group, where the heart of our philosophy is embedded in the Wild, Seasonal and Artisan ethos that shapes every aspect of our offerings. From the seasonal dishes served in our restaurant, to the innovative cooking and foraging courses at our Cook School, our passion for excellence is unwavering.

Only open 3 nights per week, Restaurant Forage Kitchen is a small private dining room with an open kitchen where guests can enjoy a unique meal experience by immersing themselves in our exquisite tasting menus, where our talented chefs showcase the best of wild-foraged ingredients and ultra-seasonal creations; from the mouth-watering 10-course tasting menus to the innovative “Future Flavours” nights, blending the current with exciting new dishes and techniques.

In addition to our restaurant we have a brand new state of the art production facility and dark kitchen, where over the next 12-24 months we are on an exciting journey to give more support to our business internally, whilst at the same time move into new areas including product design and development, artisan bakery, street food pop-ups, video production and much more.

Job Description:

We run a small open kitchen restaurant / private dining experience - that is only open a few nights a week, so no burn-out and far more enjoyable - proper time off (including 1 weekend a month). closed for Christmas/New year etc. We only offer 10 course ultra-seasonal tasting menus, using the very best produce, foraged ingredients, that change every month.

Commis Chef Level 2 or Chef de Partie Level 3 apprenticeship opportunity with on the job training and a recognised qualification when complete.

Main Responsibilities:

Learn and assist in preparation and service of our 10 course taster menu items.

Assist with preparation of other (Food) elements of our operation as required, including but not limited to: Artisan Chocolates, Street Food, Event food.

Assist in the delivery of our food courses as well as get involved with additional projects often involving filming (Sister company is a media firm, so lots of video & social media opportunities to expand reach).

Reporting to: Head Chef.

To become an apprentice, you must:

Be 16 or over

Not already be in full-time education

You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.

As an apprentice you’ll:

Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace

Learn and train for a specific job

Get paid and receive holiday leave

Get hands-on experience in a real job

Study for at least 20% of your working hours

Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship

Be on a career path with lots of future potential

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.

Levels of an apprenticeship

Each apprenticeship has a level and an equivalent education level. You can start an apprenticeship at any level.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll achieve the equivalent education level. For example, if you complete a level 3 apprenticeship, you’ll achieve the equivalent of an A level.
