We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate complex care support workers to join our support package providing care and support to a 28 year old young lady who has an acquired brain injury with complex care needs. The client is wheelchair dependant and non-
verbal.
The client’s care will be based in her family home, where she has a purpose built living and therapy area. You will be offering support with personal care, therapy exercises and leisure activities and accompanying the client to appointments as requested.Your role will involve working with the family and therapy team to set up and engage the client in a structured timetable of activities including hydrotherapy, gardening, music therapy, arts and crafts in the home environment. Activities such as theatre, bowling, visiting the local safari park and walks in the local area are just some of the types of leisure activities you will support.
The role requires sensitivity to the client’s needs (and those of her family) hence past experience in complex needs is required along with peg feeding and administering medication.It will be the role of the support worker to also complete daily notes and to keep the clients living areas clean and tidy.
Hours of work:
32 hours per weekTuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday daytimes 10.00am – 6.00pm.
Other days maybe requested but with prior arrangement.
Rate of pay
£16.00 weekday hours£17.50 weekend hours
Applicants must have a full driving licence and will be expected to drive the client’s vehicle.A non-smoker/vaper only to apply.
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required, references will be checked along with practical and online training will be required to be completed prior to employment commencing.
