Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic band6 clinical lead who shows excellent leadership qualities and is able to role model clinical excellence whilst working with older people who have complex mental health needs. The successful applicant will be part of an established, hard working team.

The successful applicant will work within a multi disciplinary team and will be expected to be a clinical expert and able to give clear, concise information to the RC and rest of MDT. The applicant will be expected to support junior staff and other professionals who work onto the ward whilst also developing their own skills and knowledge base.

Main duties of the job
  • Develop own skills and experience.
  • Supervise other qualified nurses and non qualified staff.
  • Be a clinical expert.
  • Advocate for patients in their care.
  • Role modelling.
  • Working clinically at a high level.
  • Support ward manager in operational tasks.
  • Work autonomously
  • Show initiative.
  • Have excellent communication.

Education and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Professional Nursing qualification e.g.RMN/RNMH/ RNLD
  • ENB 998 / P126/127 or equivalent.
  • Student Assessor /Mentor
Desirable criteria
  • Therapy Based Training qualification
  • Qualification to Degree level
  • Management Qualification
  • Staff Training and Development
  • Leadership experience
  • Non-Medical prescribing

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
