Safeguarding Lawyer - Childcare - Wolverhampton
LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, for an experienced childcare/safeguarding lawyer on a locum basis. You will be offered a 3-month contract initially, with potential to extend.
You will handle a diverse caseload of matters within a busy children safeguarding team. You must have experience providing child protection legal advice under the Children Act 1989 and Adoption and Children Act 2002, and it is essential you are able to conduct your own advocacy.Caseworker support will be available.
Previous UK local government is also an essential requirement.
To apply you will:
- Be an England and Wales qualified lawyer, barrister or chartered legal executive Be able to demonstrate previous experience handling a caseload of childcare/safeguarding matters in a local government environment Be able to conduct advocacy in person Available on no more than a 4-week notice period
The salary for this role will be offered on an hourly basis and is negotiable dependent on skills and experience, however initial guidance from the client is between £45 - £55/hour umbrella.
