DNO - Warhead Transport Safety Case Manager
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in managing safety in a complex high hazard enterprise.
The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and proactive to develop this role within a complex, challenging and highly interesting programme.
Organisation and communication skills are essential to succeed in this position, alongside management of relationships with stakeholder and suppliers.
Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Transport Nuclear Safety Case (TNSC). This will include:
Maintaining the validity of the TNSC and its artefacts, in support enduring DNO Transport Operations and Authorisee and Duty Holder regulatory and MOD policy compliance.Produce and maintain a nuclear safety case for Transport operations in accordance with DNO organisational procedures, safety and quality management systems, and current best practice, standards and methodologies (inc MOD ASEMS).
Liaison with stakeholders involved with the safety case and its interfaces, holding working groups as required.
Identify safety hazards by a range of complementary techniques. Develop safety claims for use in the TNSC.
Provide risk assessments, using both including deterministic and probabilistic techniques, and including identification of engineering and administrative controls from the safety case which can be implemented within the plant.
Project manage the review and approval process for the TNSC.
Support through-life safety issues, including Periodic Review, Optioneering Reviews and Modifications, across transport operations.
Support changes to the transportation operations by conducting technical assessment of the impact of change on the TNSC.
