Portering Services are looking for motivated individuals to join their small and friendly team. This is a physically demanding role, rewarding, challenging and a job that makes a real difference to our patient experience and the smooth running of our services.

Two days a week, various shifts.

Main duties of the job

All shifts are 8 hours with a 30 minute break.

On a daily basis, you may walk 12-15 miles per day, transfer patients on beds or chairs to other departments and wards, move equipment, medical notes (up to 15kg) and office/ward moves. Other duties include assisting with the delivery of internal post, Pharmacy supplies to wards and blood related products to various wards across the Trust.

Please be aware some duties are of a sensitive nature.

There will also be the use of our on-site electrical vehicles; this can include collection of waste, delivering of post and pharmacy deliveries. Full UK driving license will be required for this.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Physically demanding job role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • English & Maths at C grade,
  • IT skills

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous customer Service experience/Experience dealing with the public
Desirable criteria
  • NHS experience
  • Previous Porter experience in a hospital environment
