Event Technologist - Event Mobile Apps, Project Based Contractor

As an Event Technologist at Meetings & Incentives Worldwide, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and execution of technology solutions for our clients. This position reports to the Manager of Event Technology and will consult with clients both internal and external on how event technology solutions can best achieve program goals and provide guidance on event technology design & best practices.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of a multitude of event technology solutions (registration, mobile apps, badges on demand, appointment scheduling, attendee communications, event analytics, attendance tracking, virtual event platforms, audience response systems, gamification, etc.).

What you will do here:

  • Always provide excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with internal team members, subject matter experts, and external clients.
  • Follow all client mandated standard operating procedures as required.
  • Expertise in gathering and documenting technical requirements.
  • Client consultation and internal leadership on best practices and timelines.
  • Perform general application tasks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Lead presentations and/or client-facing calls.
  • Support other tasks as requested.
  • Provide mentorship and training to others.
  • Integrate payment processing and other APIs
  • Program invoicing and close out, as requested
  • Perform quality control of all aspects of the build including content review for grammar/spelling errors.
  • Understanding and following internal processes and procedures.
  • Travel onsite to support events. Onsite services would include, but are not limited to:
  • Support of hardware and software to manage on demand badge printing and attendance tracking.
  • Shipping/receiving of equipment.
  • Support of mobile applications, updates, push notifications and attendee support.
  • Other duties as assigned including assisting the onsite operations team with non-technical tasks.
  • Follow Information Privacy and Security SOPs to protect client’s information at all times.
Technology Management
  • Create event technology experiences that are easy for attendees to navigate and engage.
  • Ability to scope a project and recommend event technology solution stacks that provide the best use of technology throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Estimate, develop and maintain technical build timelines.
  • Educate internal and external stake holders on the event technologies that M&IW offers.
  • Ability to build and maintain reports, dashboards, and portals, as requested
  • Provide leadership, consultation and advise on best practices and initiatives to enhance attendee engagement and participation using technologies
  • Manage the build of all attendee communications such as event invitations, reminders, travel letters, communication emails, surveys, and virtual event announcements.
  • Thorough understanding and extensive experience on full Event Management Systems and to consult clients on best technical solutions for:
  • Complex multi-participant-type meetings
  • Meetings with multiple activity options
  • Exhibitor and speaker/session management build and workflow
  • VIP meetings, activities/excursions, & etc.
  • Expertise of the full suite of products from leading industry technologies such as Cvent, SpotMe, Swoogo and RainFocus.
  • Ability to develop mobile event apps in technologies listed above., as requested
  • Possess an understanding of Android and iOS user interfaces and ecosystems to aid in the downloading, installation, content display and use of mobile applications

What you will bring:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience, meeting industry required for Sr. Event Technologist
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and basic graphic design skills
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with database management programs (various)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to travel (approximately 20-40%)
  • Experience with Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Experience with video editing software
