Credit Controller
- Location: City of London, 3 days office based, 2 remote
- Job Type: Full-time; 9am -5pm or 8am-4pm
The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to enhance membership growth and achieve organisational objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Contact customers via phone and email to address overdue accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes on customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and communications.
- Prepare detailed reports on debtor balances, aged debt analysis, and bad debt provisions.
- Work closely with the member support, retention, and industry engagement teams to resolve issues impacting payments.
- Recommend accounts for legal action, escalation, or write-off when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company credit policy and relevant legislation.
- Input customer invoices and purchase orders into customer websites as required.
- Regularly review and develop credit control processes to improve debtor levels for both membership and other revenue streams.
- Evaluate internal and external IT changes to identify potential process improvements, including enhancements to existing communications and IT automation processes.
- Undertake other ad-hoc duties to support the finance team's goals and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or a similar role.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and credit control processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
