The Exec Director of ED&A is a crucial leadership role within our Clinical Research Organization, reporting to the CT&DO. This role focuses on establishing and implementing the Enterprise data strategy to drive insight generation and informed decision-making across the enterprise.

Additionally, the Exec director oversees the establishment of the vision, strategy, and end-to-end delivery of all data platforms for the enterprise. The ED will lead the organization to a product orientated capability (agile delivery, DevOps), modernize the data landscape, and simplify the user experience building innovative and reusable data products that drive business value.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Single point of Accountability for enterprise Data and analytics at fortrea
  • Establish and implement an enterprise data strategy and roadmap that aligns to business objectives incorporating MDM, Data Governance, Data Purchasing and value realization
  • Partner closely with the business and IT groups to understand their data needs, translate business requirements into data requirements, and define data standards and principles.
  • Orientates technology components into products, and elevates team to a product management way of working including relentless customer focus, agile delivery with value in quarterly increments, and fit-for-purpose technology solutions that delight
  • Manage and prioritize enterprise demand for data services.
  • Partner with platform teams across IT to integrate data services into platform solutions.
  • Manages execution of technology roadmap with direct oversight of DevOps teams and directs virtual teams supported by architecture, design, test, and support.
  • Manages technology platform as a business owner, owning portfolio forecasts, and driving efficiency into teams and utilization of resourcing including consumption of licenses and 3rd party spend.
  • Coordinates external engagement and external innovation; ensure market trends are integrated into roadmap and communicated to business.
  • Responsible for delivering development and validation artefacts, ensuring high quality standards, and audit readiness.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • In-depth knowledge of data strategy development, data governance, and digital product management.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of data architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent project management and team coordination skills.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with database systems and platforms. (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, etc.)
Experience (Minimum Required): Experience in data strategy, data platform management, or a similar leadership role in Lifesciences
  • Highly Experienced in developing and launching data-centric digital products.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing data strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and ethical standards in data management.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Data Engineering or Data Management (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data).
  • Experience in a Clinical Research Organization.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative developer culture.

Pay Range: $180k-$250,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
