We are recruiting for a Senior Clinical Nurse Educator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This role will place the post holder at the forefront of Critical Care education throughout the Trust.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Band 6 in critical care and will need to demonstrate a proactive and adaptive approach to teaching and developing staff.
The post holder must be an effective communicator, who can demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure, managing staff and delivering patient focused care.
Candidates will be innovative, forward thinking, able to work independently and as part of a team in a rapidly changing environment.Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a sound knowledge of professional nursing and practice development issues.
A commitment to your own personal development and a positive contribution to the ongoing development of the team are essential.
We are a busy, mixed level, 18 bedded unit admitting emergency and elective patients from a variety of specialities. Our nurse- patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 2:1.

To devise, deliver and evaluate training programmes of clinically relevant education to ensure the professional development of all members of the Critical Care nursing and support staff teams.
To provide leadership and expert clinical knowledge to a range of health professionals and staff across the Trust and functioning as a resource for all Critical Care staff.
To provide a collaborative educational link between all areas within the trust assisting in the development of protocols and guidelines for the care of the critically ill patients.
Lead in the development of clinical standards ensuring these are set, embedded and monitored in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the Matron.
Assist in the development of clinical protocols ensuring that these are reviewed in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the Ward/Unit manager.
Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with consultants, medical staff, nurse colleagues and other multi-agency professionals.
