Duty Manager
Do you have the skills to develop and motivate a team of individuals? Would you be interested in working in an operational role in one of Manchester's most unique visitor attractions?
About us
At Science Museum Group (SMG), our Operations teams are committed to providing a safe, accessible and engaging environment in our museums, making us truly open for all.
Helping us to continue achieving this goal, we are looking for a full-time Duty Manager at the Science and Industry Museum (SIM) to provide support to the Operations team.
About the role
As Duty Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of our visitor-facing operations. You will lead by example in managing our front-of-house teams, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience fitting for a major cultural attraction.
This is a full-time (35 hours pw) role, on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work on a rota basis, working weekends. Shift times are 9.15am-5.15pm.
About you
You will bring an understanding of how to motivate and develop individuals to deliver an exceptional experience for our museum visitors. You will bring a professional and flexible approach which is solutions-focussed and adaptable. This is an operational role, so an understanding of health and safety, plus the ability to remain calm under pressure is key.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
