Primary cover Teacher (SEN)

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Cover Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover across a range of classes, with the potential for a temporary to permanent position based on performance.

• Provide PPA cover across various classes, ensuring continuity of education in the absence of the class teacher.
• Lead and manage whole classes, delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of students.
• Work across a variety of subjects, with the flexibility to specialize in areas such as Art, Music, PE, or others, depending on your expertise and the needs of the school.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and progress.
• Undertake other relevant duties as assigned by the school leadership team.

• Proven experience as an HLTA or Cover Supervisor, with a strong track record of leading whole classes.
• Experience working with students with SLD and PMLD.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Flexibility and adaptability in covering a range of subjects.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Specialism in Art, Music, PE, or another subject that could enrich our curriculum.
• Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with complex needs.
