Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEND Secondary School

Location: Between Salisbury & Andover
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract: Initially through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role after a successful probation period

Transport: Own car required due to rural location

A small, welcoming, and high-achieving SEND secondary school situated between Salisbury and Andover is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. About the Role

As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND to access their education in a way that enables them to thrive. Working closely with class teachers, SEN specialists, and other LSAs, you will provide both academic and emotional support, ensuring that students develop confidence and independence in their learning.

  • Assist students in their day-to-day learning, both in class and through targeted interventions.
  • Support young people who are high-achieving but require additional help to reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to implement individualised learning strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Provide pastoral and emotional support, helping students develop resilience and self-esteem.
  • Take part in regular in-house training, designed to upskill LSAs and help them progress in their careers.
  • Contribute to the inclusive, positive school environment, ensuring every student feels valued and supported.

What We Are Looking For

  • Their own transport, as the school is in a rural location.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
