Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Teaching Assistant at Wansdyke Primary School you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust

As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for: Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.

Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
Support inclusion and encourage cooperation among pupils.
Assist with 1:1 and small group learning support, adjusting to individual needs.
Promote independence and self-esteem through challenging expectations and rewards.
Use ICT to support learning activities and foster pupil independence.
Monitor and evaluate pupils’ progress against learning objectives, providing feedback.
Assist teachers with developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Support lesson planning and adjust activities to suit pupil needs.
Communicate with parents and other agencies, providing reports on pupil progress.
Assist in maintaining classroom resources, displays, and preparing materials.
Supervise pupils during out-of-class times (e.g., lunch, trips, after-school activities).
Administer routine tests and invigilate exams.

Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health, and safety policies.

What You’ll Bring to Futura

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant with: Good standard of education (e.g., 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade C or above).

Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent (desirable).
A minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting pupils in the classroom, especially those with additional needs.
Understanding of child development, learning processes, and barriers to learning.
Experience with pupil reviews and reports (e.g., EHC plans).
Strong communication skills with both pupils and adults.
Ability to work effectively within a team and use initiative.
Good IT skills for supporting learning activities.
