A&C Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Adult and Child Psychiatry to provide remote clinical services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating patients with a variety of mental health conditions, with a focus on delivering high-quality care through telepsychiatry.

The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams and offering expert psychiatric consultations for both adults and children in a fully virtual setting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations for both adults and children via secure telehealth platforms.
  • Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans, including pharmacological and therapeutic interventions, based on best practice guidelines.
  • Providing expert consultation to primary care physicians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care for patients.
  • Prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications, making necessary adjustments and monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
  • Providing regular follow-up consultations and adjusting treatment plans as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Conducting risk assessments and managing any safeguarding concerns, ensuring that all clinical work adheres to safety protocols.
  • Maintaining thorough and timely clinical records, in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Psychiatrist qualification.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Experience in Adult and Child Psychiatry.
  • Experience managing complex mental health conditions, including ADHD, ASD, mood disorders, and psychosis.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a virtual setting.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability to a multidisciplinary team.
