The post holder will serve as an Advanced or Enhanced Practitioner within the GI/GU specialty, managing a varied caseload of patients undergoing Fluoroscopy and CT Colonography examinations. They will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures on patients with complex GI/GU conditions and ensuring accurate diagnoses.The role also includes supervising, supporting, and mentoring students and trainee GI/GU Radiographers, fostering their professional development. In the absence of the Divisional Modality Lead (DML) GI/GU Radiographer, the post holder will provide leadership and contribute to multidisciplinary education and training.
Further postgraduate study may be required, depending on qualifications, to ensure the post holder is fully prepared for the responsibilities of this specialized role and can offer optimal support to the team.
Key responsibilities include performing GI/GU exams across MFT sites, working autonomously to interpret complex procedures, contributing to best practice standards, and supporting the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will manage their workload efficiently, ensure high standards of patient care, prioritise examinations, and refer patients as needed.They will also engage in continuous professional development, support the training of staff, and maintain knowledge of current imaging advancements. Compliance with professional standards and involvement in service development are essential aspects of the role.
