ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As a Network Solutions Engineer at SITA, you will play a hands-on role across the full lifecycle of network solution design—from scoping and requirements gathering to documentation, standard and non-standard design creation, guidance on delivery to the customer.You will collaborate closely with commercial, delivery, and technical support teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs within the dynamic environment of Heathrow Airport.
You’ll join a team led by the Technical Services Manager and act as a key technical voice in shaping network solutions that directly impact mission-critical airport operations. This is a customer-facing role that requires both technical depth and the ability to clearly communicate value.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Lead technical scoping sessions with internal teams and customers to define business and technical requirements
- Recommend and secure adaptations to pre-defined solutions to align with customer-specific needs
- Represent SITA as the lead technical point of contact, collaborating with commercial and project teams throughout the engagement
- Closely collaborate with commercial and project colleagues to create proposals and supporting documentation
- Translate approved proposals into robust, scalable network designs ready for implementation
- Provide early life support and ensure a smooth handover to operations teams
- Work closely with operations colleagues to ensure a seamless transition
- Contribute to product roadmaps to help evolve SITA’s network solution offerings that meet the customer needs
- Serve as the technical representative during customer engagements, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer focus
Qualifications:
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, solution design, or delivery and support of networking solutions with a proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent extensive experience in the IT, Network or Telco industry.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies (CCNA or CCNP certification a strong plus)
- Solid expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, network security architecture, and wireless technologies (Aruba WLAN, ClearPass)
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with pre-sales, delivery, and operational teams
- Good presentation skills—confident in articulating and defending design decisions to customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- Highly skilled in technical documentation for designs, solutions, and implementation
- Self-motivated team player who takes initiative and thrives in a goal-driven environment
- Technical certification (current or expired) in one or more of the following: Palo Alto Networks; Cisco Networking (LAN); Cisco Data Centre (ACI & Nexus); Cisco NCS; AVI Load Balancer; Aruba WLAN; ClearPass
