Assistant Management Accountant

Robert Half are delighted to be supporting a business in Somerset on the recruitment of an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to join a small and close-knit finance team, and be supported in their finance career with coaching, mentoring and study support.

Our client adopts a hybrid working model, that would require you in the office as the business requires, anywhere from once a week to once a month. Otherwise, you can work flexibly from home.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting with month end accounting experience and ideally exposure to financial budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Financial Controller with delivering monthly management accounts, financial analysis and reporting, as well as financial planning activities.
  • Completing month end reconciliations, with appropriate follow up and resolution of queries.
  • Collating all necessary information for the payroll runs, liaising with an external provider and supporting with pension and benefits tasks as required.
  • Supporting with the audit and compliance processes, maintaining adherence to all necessary regulations, policies and best practice at all times.

Your Profile:

  • Previous experience working in a similar Finance position, with month end experience is essential.
  • AAT Level 3/4 or Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA, with an intention to continue professional studies.
  • Strong Excel skills, and good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with Payroll is highly desirable but not essential.

In return, the successful candidate can expect a salary of up to £35,000 plus benefits including 25 days holiday (rising each year of service), flexi time, study support and matched pension of up to 8.5%.
