Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Science Technician to join a Secondary in the B8 area of Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of our state-of-the-art science laboratories, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for both students and staff
  • Resource Coordination: Manage and distribute scientific equipment, chemicals, and materials, keeping track of inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring experiments run smoothly and assisting with any technical challenges
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Implement and uphold strict health and safety protocols in accordance with school policies, guaranteeing a secure environment for all laboratory activities
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for science teachers and support staff on the proper usage of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Science Technician in an educational setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations related to laboratory work.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff to enhance the overall learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
  • Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
