Pattison School is seeking a dynamic, passionate and well-qualified English teacher to join our small and dedicated department from September 2025. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious educator to help shape the future of English teaching in a growing school that values creativity, inclusivity, and academic excellence.

We are looking for someone who can teach across KS3 to KS5, with experience of GCSE and A Level English (Language and/or Literature), and a proven ability to raise attainment and support pupil aspiration. You will play a key role in supporting our school development priorities, including:

  • Ensuring inclusive, adaptive teaching that meets the needs of a diverse cohort
  • Contributing to the development of a thriving A-Level pathway launching in September 2026

About the Role

You will:

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 delivery planned from September 2026 (and potentially earlier)
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
  • Support pupils with a wide range of educational needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Take an active role in the wider life of the school, contributing to enrichment, assessments, and development of resources
  • Be an enthusiastic team player, contributing ideas and energy to a small but growing department

About You

You will have:

  • QTS and a degree in English or a related subject
  • Experience teaching English up to A-Level (Language and/or Literature)
  • A commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching
  • An understanding of neurodiversity, including strategies to support students with SEND and ADHD
  • High expectations and the ability to inspire confidence and achievement in all learners

A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities (such as debate club, theatre trips, or creative writing groups) would be welcomed.
