English Teacher (KS3–KS5)
Days: Initially 3 days per week (days negotiable), with the potential to move to full-time

Pattison School is seeking a dynamic, passionate and well-qualified English teacher to join our small and dedicated department from September 2025. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious educator to help shape the future of English teaching in a growing school that values creativity, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
We are looking for someone who can teach across KS3 to KS5, with experience of GCSE and A Level English (Language and/or Literature), and a proven ability to raise attainment and support pupil aspiration. You will play a key role in supporting our school development priorities, including:
- Improving academic outcomes for all pupils
- Supporting pupils in developing greater initiative and independence as learners
- Ensuring inclusive, adaptive teaching that meets the needs of a diverse cohort
- Contributing to the development of a thriving A-Level pathway launching in September 2026
About the Role
You will:
- Teach English across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 delivery planned from September 2026 (and potentially earlier)
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
- Support pupils with a wide range of educational needs, including SEND and EAL
- Take an active role in the wider life of the school, contributing to enrichment, assessments, and development of resources
- Be an enthusiastic team player, contributing ideas and energy to a small but growing department
About You
You will have:
- QTS and a degree in English or a related subject
- Experience teaching English up to A-Level (Language and/or Literature)
- A commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching
- An understanding of neurodiversity, including strategies to support students with SEND and ADHD
- High expectations and the ability to inspire confidence and achievement in all learners
A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities (such as debate club, theatre trips, or creative writing groups) would be welcomed.
