An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Finance Team as a Deputy Head of Financial Management.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join the team and to contribute to a forward thinking, quality focused team, while also delivering comprehensive financial management returns. This role is pivotal to supporting Mid Cheshire with accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and advice.
You will be joining a very busy Financial Management team playing a key role in developing financial modelling frameworks for reporting internally and externally, leading/developing a team of highly motivated professionals and helping Mid Cheshire on its journey to excellence
This role requires an individual with drive and enthusiasm, somebody who has a keen eye for analysing trends and finding the story behind the numbers.
This role does not cover Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, Commissioning contracts or Accounts payable/receivable and is solely relating to Management Accounts (ledger control, trend analysis, forecasting, triangulation of activity/WTE/£, efficiency monitoring and team development).Experience in this element of work is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing Senior Finance Leaders with accurate and timely financial information. With the support of the Finance team, you will develop and monitor annual budget, identify and appropriately manage financial pressures, and produce plans to control expenditure within allocated resources.
Strong analytical and IT skills are an essential part of this role, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced skills required) and computerised ledger systems (Integra).
It is essential that you are a CCAB qualified accountant with at least 2 years post qualification Senior Management experience in a Finance Role.

Person Specification
Qualification - Essential:
- CCAB Qualified Accountant with 2 year post qualification experience
- Evidence of CPD
Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Essential:
- Knowledge of NHS accounting procedures and experience in Management Accounts
- Excellent IT skills and highly numerate
- Ability to discuss complex and sensitive information, gain respect and influence decisions
- Ability to understand complex financial issues and advice the best action accordingly
Other Skills - Essential:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with consistent professionalism and objectivity
