CFCD Operations are undergoing a huge transformation in delivering new legislation, new case management systems and transformative ways to address benefit fraud which gives us the opportunity to look to the future and consider what DWP will look like in the next few years. Our Departmental priorities help us focus our efforts on what will make the biggest difference to our customers, taxpayers and citizens in the years ahead.
Our key priorities, to deliver benefit fraud savings of over £1bn per year and prosecute the most serious fraudsters, means delivering service transformation, working with enabling partners and benefit delivery lines to refine the systems to prevent more fraud error and debt occurring and by being adaptable, working flexibly and resourcing to risk.
- As a member of CFCD’s full senior leadership team, you will lead a small team, all of whom are geographically dispersed, so you will need to be able to communicate confidently, articulating the vision supported by senior leaders.
- Providing development and leadership for your team, embedding new ways of working and fostering a culture of ‘One Team’ that includes wider teams in DWP, role modelling the Civil Service behaviours.
- You will lead on implementing a wide range of projects and a knowledge or experience of counter fraud strategies and approaches would be desirable. You will need to be flexible and deliver the core services determined by our strategic vision, business plan and Deputy Directors.
- Provide proactive and transformational leadership and effectively manage operational needs and impacts with stakeholders leading on transforming our services.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risk to the successful delivery of operational objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the senior regional and functional leaders.
- Actively participate in the Modernisation Programme with senior leaders delivering the objectives to successfully deliver improvements to our case management systems, new digital products and the Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Debt) Bill legislation changes.
- Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders who will support the delivery of our modernised services.
- Be at the forefront of overseeing business change; leading others through the planning, implementation, and embedding, of new policies and procedures.
- Support the Head of CFC Operations Modernisation by working at pace to deliver high quality products to tight timescales, multi-tasking between competing priorities.
- Flexibility and a proactive approach, working closely with colleagues and having an awareness of wider, long-term aims for CFCD.
Due to the nature of the role and the geographically dispersed team, this role will require travel and overnight stays.
