Trust Registrar in Dermatology
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient dermatology services in a vibrant Dermatology Department. We have a dedicated CESR training educational supervisor and encourage and support applicants looking to pursue a career in dermatology via the CESR route.
This is a cross site post (Ealing and Northwick Park hospitals) and the post holder will have allocated educational and clinical supervision. The clinical commitments consists of outpatient clinics in general dermatology and two week wait clinics, minor operative procedures and inpatient ward work in rotation with speciality doctors.
Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in both inpatient and outpatient dermatology services. Clinical commitments include regular outpatient clinics and a weekly minor procedures list. There will be opportunity to present interesting cases at local meetings.The successful candidate would be expected to be actively involved in departmental audits, journal club and medical student teaching.
The post holder will be responsible for managing inpatient referrals in a timely fashion including liaison with various medical and nursing staff on wards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
There is time for CPD and opportunity to present interesting cases at local meetings. The successful candidate would be expected to be actively involved in departmental audits and also be an opportunity to participate in clinical research as the department at Northwick Park undertakes clinical trials and portfolio studies.
There is special consideration given to training with journal clubs and complex case clinics providing ample opportunity to discuss cases from the clinics with multiple consultant presence.
The post holder preferably should hold MRCP.
Previous experience in Dermatology in the NHS is essential.
The Dermatology service consists of three units, one at Northwick Park Hospital, one at Central Middlesex Hospital and the other at Ealing Hospital. The service has evolved this year with expansion of consultant, non-consultant and nursing staff to include a dedicated dermatology pharmacist.
The service has a large remit with a large number of 2 week wait referrals in addition to academic input with commitment to medical student teaching. We are working with the North West London sector Clinical Reference Group on the introduction of tele-dermatology.
Local skin cancer MDT’s are held fortnightly on a Monday lunchtime. The Trust also hosts the twice monthly specialist MDT for the north western part of the London Cancer Alliance.
