Science Technician: Physics
Full time, 36 weeks per year Flexible start date, from September 2025
St Swithun’s is looking to appoint a science technician to work in our science department, but specifically with a focus on supporting our physics teaching. Our science department combines the teaching of physics, biology and chemistry, an arrangement that encourages and develops a collaborative approach to teaching, learning and co-curricular opportunities across the sciences.
The technician will be responsible for the management of equipment and supplies as well as coordinating and organising practical resources including equipment to support the teachers in the physics department and wider sciences when needed.
This is a permanent role working 08.00-16.30 Monday to Friday for 36 weeks of the year. The post holder will receive 5.6 weeks of paid holiday (including bank holidays), with the remainder of the school holiday period taken as unpaid leave.
