I am looking for personal care for a Man
Drivers licence required: No
Hours per week:
Flexible and to be discussed/agreed.
Hourly pay rate:
£25 per hour depending upon experience. Self-employed.
Purpose
To assist a deaf and partially sighted runner in running safely, helping them stay healthy and active.
Experience
The runner has significant experience, having achieved 210 finisher medals since 2008.
Location
Primarily within 50 miles of London, but anywhere in the UK is acceptable.
Duration
Flexible; sessions can be once or twice a week, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Activities
Deaf Run Club: 3 hours every Tuesday evening in Central London.
- 10K run races: Every Wednesday evening, up to 4 hours weekly in London and occasionally other parts of the UK.
- 10-21-41K run races: Saturdays or Sundays, up to 7 hours bi-weekly in London and other parts of the UK.

Candidate qualities:
Running Abilities
5k in 25-35 minutes10k in 50-60 minutes
Half marathon in 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours
Experience
Participation in running events preferred
Training
Provided if there’s no prior experience in guide running.Skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.Passion for running and enthusiasm.
Ability to work independently.
Good level of British Sign Language (BSL), preferably Level 3 or above.
Desirable: Experience with Deafblind individuals and familiarity with communication methods and guiding skills.Background Check
An enhanced DBS check is required, which will be covered by the supporting organization.Pace- Maintain a steady pace set by the Deafblind (DB) runner.
Communication - Essential during race briefings and social interactions.
Alertness - Be aware of the surroundings and communicate potential hazards.
Patience and Assertiveness - Needed for guiding through courses and ensuring safety.
Feedback and Respect - Be open to feedback and respectful in interactions.
