Support worker needed mainly during school hours and weekends for one to one support for a 14 year old boy with ADHD and some learning disabilities (no personal care needed) Days/hours per day are very flexible.
We are based in Morley, LS27
W is 14 but in the way he understands the world is more like an 8 or 9 year old. He is quite naive and needs someone to look out for him as is vulnerable and doesn't understand that people can't always be trusted. In some ways he’s like a typical teenager and can have mood swings and be quite cheeky so being patient and calm is important. He is also funny, chatty and a bit silly at times. He enjoys activities such as going bowling, to the cinema etc, going out on his bike etc. We’d ideally like someone who is reasonably outdoorsy and active and can take him on various outings and help burn off some energy.
We’d ideally like someone who has previous experience of working with neurodiverse children, however, the main thing is that you gel with W and vice versa. Due to W liking going out to do activities, a car driver/car owner is essential
Basic rate is £11.44 per hour plus holiday pay. This equates to FTE annual salary of £22,308
