As a cover supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting schools by covering lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. Your key responsibility is to ensure that students remain on task, following the pre-prepared lesson plans, and maintaining a productive classroom environment.You will not be required to plan or mark work, allowing you to focus on managing the class and facilitating learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring they are following the pre-set work and tasks
- Manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment
- Ensure students remain focused and engaged with their learning during lessons
- Follow school policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines to ensure the welfare of all pupils
- Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding any issues or student progress observed during the lesson
- Be flexible and adaptable, covering various subjects and year groups as required by the school
