Role Responsibilities:

As a PE Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of sports and fitness activities, ensuring lesson continuity in teachers' absence.
  • Engage students in physical activities, promoting teamwork, resilience, and enthusiasm for physical education.
  • Support and motivate students with diverse abilities, fostering a safe and inclusive environment where all can participate.
  • Oversee sports equipment and ensure the safe use of facilities during classes.
  • Encourage students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and develop transferrable skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and personal accountability.
  • Assist with general lesson preparation and support PE staff with event and team coordination as needed.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in physical education or sports science (a degree or equivalent qualification is preferred).
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a sports, mentoring, or educational role.
  • Good classroom and activity management skills, with a clear understanding of safeguarding protocols.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to engaging and supporting students.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude toward working in a dynamic school environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and a strong understanding of its importance within the school context.
