Cover Teacher Job Description

Job Title: Cover Teacher
Location: North West England, Cheshire, Macclesfield
Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours
Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £130 - £140 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons to students in the absence of regular teachers
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure continuity of learning
  • Manage the classroom effectively and maintain discipline in line with school policies
  • Provide feedback on student progress and behaviour to the regular teacher
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a classroom setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and environments

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Ability to assess student learning and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Experience working as a cover teacher in a secondary school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
