ZI307 - Maternity Nurse & Night Nurse - London

Overview:

A busy, friendly, central London-based family seeks 2 maternity nurses, to provide 24 hour coverage for their newborn. One maternity nurse will cover days (8am-8pm), the other will cover nights (8pm-8am), with the position likely to carry on for at least a few months.

Responsibilities:

The parents will be around and involved (as much as they can) and responsibilities will therefore involve tag teaming with the parents when required:

• All aspects of infant care
• Maintaining a sleep and feeding schedule, helping Mum with breastfeeding and/or bottles if needed
• Preparing purees and baby food, supporting the eventual weaning process
• Implementing an effective sleep routine that the family can follow once the position ends
• Creating an engaging and stimulating environment
• Keeping the baby's items tidy and organised, keeping on top of baby's laundry
• Planning developmentally appropriate activities and outings
• Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby, while respecting the family’s personal preferences
• Supporting Mum in her recovery
• Ensuring a gentle, nurturing and calm environment prevails

Requirements:

• Friendly personality, with the ability to read the room
• Effective communicator, comfortable working to support the parents' preferences and happy to take direction
• Calm demeanour and pitch-in mentality
• Hands on and resourceful but able to recognise when to give the family space and privacy
