Clerk Of Works - Multi-Story/ High-Rise
Location: Barnet (North London)
Salary: £50,000-£70,000 OR £200 - £300 a day
Contract duration: 24 months

About the project :
This project is due to take 2 years from start to finish and due to commence in July. The project involves:
• Repairs to a 1960’s concrete frame
• Demolition of a two-story concrete car park
• Extensions to side and rear of the 1960’s building
• 2 new floors on top of the existing 10 story's
• 3 new flats to the rear of the property
You will also be required to do a complete strip out of the building and refit of flats to the newly extended building.
You will be the regular eyes and ears on the ground during the works, ensuring specifications are followed and quality maintained throughout. You will need a particular eye for detail regarding installation of cavity barriers and other fire prevention measures, ensuring these are properly recorded and signed off by the contractor and any sub-contractors.
Daily records will need to be maintained and weekly reports with photographs and other documentation as appropriate to maintain the records required by Building Control for high risk (over 18m) residential buildings.
Responsibilities:
• Inspecting construction work and comparing it with drawings and specifications
• Measuring and quality checking building materials
• Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them
• Monitoring progress and reporting to construction managers, architects and clients
• Keeping detailed records of work
• Referring to plans and taking photographs of work, along with measurements and samples
• Liaising with contractors, engineers and surveyors
• Checking that building regulations, health and safety, legal and ecological requirements are met
• Working between an office and construction sites.
Experience:
• Strong track record within the construction industry is essential.
• High rise/ Multi-story experience is preferred.
• Project Management is preferred.
• Up to date on all Building Regulations is essential.
• Must be able to read drawings.
Benefits:
• Salary between £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
• Alternatively, £200 - £300 a day, depending on experience.
• Other benefits to be negotiated on interview
