Reception Year Teaching Assistant - ref. z1652203
This role begins ASAP in March 2025
Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- Work with small groups and individual children to provide targeted support and encouragement
- Assist in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and personal development, encouraging positive relationships and behaviour
- Help with classroom organisation, preparing resources, and maintaining a stimulating learning space
- Observe and record children’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher to support assessment and planning
- Assist with personal care tasks, such as toileting, dressing, and snack times, ensuring children’s well-being
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to support children's learning and development
- Support children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) where required
- Contribute to school life, including meetings, training, and school events
Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Have experience working with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) children
- Be passionate about child development and early learning
- Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with young children
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant
- Be proactive and adaptable, ready to support children’s needs as they arise
- (Desirable) Have experience supporting children with SEND
