Job overview

Coppice Academy is a ‘Good’ school at the heart of the community. Situated just minutes off Junction 5 of the M42 and only a mile from the town of Solihull, visitors are astounded by our ‘polite and well mannered pupils’. Our recent Ofsted report in June 2023 spoke about ‘Pupils who are ‘keen learners and enjoy coming to school’ where leaders ‘have created a purposeful learning atmosphere’.

As an innovative school always striving for better, there is a constant drive to achieve maximum personal and academic potential and as part of a Multi Academy Trust there is the opportunity for exceptional training and the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

We are looking for a positive and skilled classroom teacher to deliver the highest level of teaching & learning for our aspirational pupils. We want a teacher who has the skills and desire to develop and nurture every child in their care. They will deliver consistently good teaching and learning, in order to help all pupils to achieve excellent academic results.

In return, they will work alongside staff who will coach, nurture and lead by example to ensure the best for their team.

The position is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis (maternity cover).

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join an ambitious school:

  • to work with students who are committed to their learning and passionate about their own further professional development
  • to work to raise the outcomes for all pupils by inspiring and motivating pupils and staff alike

All staff work hard, supported by a committed leadership team, to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning. The recent Ofsted report highlighted the fact that ‘Leaders have high aspirations for all pupils. They have designed a curriculum that builds pupils’ knowledge logically year by year’.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • an individual with the commitment to driving standards and ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their maximum potential
  • a teacher with experience of raising attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment
  • someone who is committed to developing their own teaching practice in a supportive team environment
  • a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders
  • an excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team

In return, we can offer you:

  • a positive and innovative learning culture supported by students, staff, parents and governors
  • enthusiastic students who enjoy learning and engage positively in all aspects of school life
  • a collaborative and supportive attitude amongst staff which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity
  • a Senior Leadership team who is committed to promoting the best environment and outcomes for staff and pupils
  • opportunities for CPD and progression as part of a Multi Academy Trust
  • Teacher Pension
  • Cycle to Work scheme
