Regional Data Centre Manager (North)

What you'll be doing::

As our Regional Data Centre Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the Data Centre (DC) facilities infrastructure across iomart DC sites in the North region, which includes 3 sites in Manchester, 1 in York, 1 in North Wales, 1 in Nottingham, and 1 in Leicester.

This role is based in Manchester and will require travel to the other DC sites.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing the North DC infrastructure’s availability, performance, resilience, and cost-efficient delivery to support iomart’s service and product delivery to our clients.
  • Maintaining asset management for the North DC sites.
  • Overseeing all North DC M&E and HVAC systems.
  • Managing both North DC infrastructure teams and partners who provide specialist vendor support and maintenance.
  • Driving operational excellence consistent with good industry practices for the North DC sites.
  • Building capital investment plans for asset replacement or capacity expansion in the North DC.
  • Maintaining North DC infrastructure Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and participating in Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises.

Success will be measured through Operational Excellence KPIs, including the number of Major Incidents, Mean Time to Failure, M&E Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)/Net Promoter Score (NPS), Employee Satisfaction (ESAT), Change Execution Success, and Infrastructure Asset Accuracy & Supportability.

We want to hear from you if you::

  • Are an experienced Regional DC Manager
  • Have an excellent technical understanding of DC infrastructure and tooling including latest tools, techniques, and innovation to improve environmental sustainability.
  • Have knowledge with managing Data Centre space & power utilisation including understanding Data Centre HVAC, Power Distribution, Data Centre UPS, Cable Plant Layout and Environmental monitoring systems
  • Have an M&E technical background and qualifications in IT DC Management (CDCMP and/or CDCDP)
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
